The Shepherd's Heart Toward Mothers

Isaiah 40:11 (NLT)

11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will carry the lambs in his arms,
holding them close to his heart.
He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

What a precious verse reflecting our Lord's heart toward mothers! What  a comfort to know that He will gently lead us with our children! I don't know what matter troubles your heart as a mother today, but I do know that if you have a relationship with Jesus, He is shepherding you. Will your trust Him to meet all your needs, to make you lie down in green pastures, to lead you beside still waters, to restore your soul and guide you? Even if you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, there is no need to fear. You can trust that His rod and His staff will steer you where He intends for you to go.  He will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies and anoint your head with oil. Your cup of blessings will overflow. Goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life and you will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
It's hard sometimes to keep from nudging our lambs in the direction we think they should go. Or even worse, we try to pen them inside a fence. Then, there's the worry that someone will lead them astray or they will be injured by wolves. Dear Mother, trust today! The Shepherd is carrying the lambs and gently leading you!
Happy Mother's Day!
