Pierced Hearts

Acts 2:37-39 (NLT)

37 Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

Peter had just shared with the "People of Israel" in vs. 22-36 how God "publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene."  Peter wanted them to understand Jesus is the real deal! There is salvation in no one else!(Acts 4:12a) Peter's words pierced their hearts. Who are you praying for that their heart will be pierced with the truth of the Gospel? Is the Holy Spirit nudging you to talk to them? Will you ask the Lord for opportunities to build relationships and share the Gospel? Will you step outside your comfort zone and rely on Him for courage, boldness, and the right words? Will you keep on praying for that person even when it's tempting to give up?

Romans 10:14-15 (NLT)

14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

My prayer for us today is that we will make the most of the opportunities the Lord gives us for sharing our faith and that He will let us see the fruit of pierced hearts and repentance!
