The Holy Spirit

I woke up this morning thinking about a verse regarding the Holy Spirit that I was privileged to share with a friend this week. From there, my thoughts went to how blessed we are to have Him come and dwell inside us. He is for us an internal GPS of sorts. Here is what the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary has to say about Him.
Third person of the Trinity through whom God acts, reveals His will, empowers individuals, and discloses His personal presence in the Old Testament and New Testament.
Jesus said of Him, "The Spirit alone gives eternal life" (John 6:63), "But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative-that is, the Holy Spirit-he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you" (John 14:26), and "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own, but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me" (John 16:13-14).

Will you take a minute to go back through those verses and pull out the individual truths Jesus taught regarding the Spirit? How does each one apply to you? Where do you need the Spirit's help today? Will you ask Him to help you, guide you, teach you, remind you?

Isaiah 30:21 (NLT)

21 Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.

Holy Spirit, lead us today!
