Wait!

Isaiah 40:26-31 (NLT)

26 Look up into the heavens.
    Who created all the stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another,
    calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength,
not a single one is missing.
27 O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?
O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights?
28 Have you never heard?
    Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29 He gives power to the weak
    and strength to the powerless.
30 Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Often the content of the blogs the Lord leads me to write causes me to wonder what is happening in your lives. Obviously, these blogs are an overflow of what the Lord is teaching me, but beyond that
I trust He is using them to speak to some of you right where you are, too. Let's get right into today's passage. As I share some of what I see in it and what ministers to me, will you ask the Lord to speak specifically to you through His Word?
Isaiah reminds us the Lord is Creator. He knows each star by name. He is great in power and no one else has strength that even compares to His. Stars do not go missing from night to night. Our Lord keeps up with what belongs to Him. Does it bring you comfort to know the Lord does not lose track of you? Or your children? Or your elderly parents? The Lord does not grow weak or weary. We will lack understanding, but He does not. In other words, whatever you are going through, He "gets it!" He gives us His power and His strength when we are depleted, and we will be depleted. Even young people will become weak, tired, and fall into exhaustion, but if we can just manage to wait on our Lord, we will find new strength. We will once again run and not be weary and walk without fainting.
Friend, isn't it hard to wait?  It is hard to trust and not try to come up with our own solutions. It is hard not to become frustrated. Sometimes, I write out my prayer needs and those of others. Then I write scripture over top of them to remind myself that God is going to meet those needs. Will you do that today with whatever is troubling your heart? Will you wait trusting that He who knows the stars by name is well aware of your circumstances? In time, you will run again in the new strength that only He can provide.
Much love to all of you in Christ...have a wonderful day!
